About the consultant

Social care operator with over 20 years of senior leadership experience across adult and children's services, spanning learning disability, autism, forensic, high-acuity and behaviours of concern, across residential, supported living and community settings.

I've led national operations at scale, with board-level accountability for quality, safety, regulatory performance and commercial delivery across portfolios of 240+ services. That experience includes significant EBITDA uplift through workforce redesign, agency spend reduced from 6% to 0.6%, and fee growth in the sector's most complex packages. I've held statutory accountability as Responsible Individual and Caldicott Guardian, led post-acquisition integration, and managed high-scrutiny situations involving CQC, commissioners, safeguarding teams, and legal and media exposure.

I founded EMLR Consulting to make that depth available independently, working with providers, investors, commissioners and boards who need someone who understands how services actually work under pressure. EMLR's specialist offers span Crisis Response, Serious Risk Prevention, Acquisition Due Diligence, Quality Assurance and Interim Executive Leadership.

I am a C-CAF accredited consultant. My commitment to this sector is personal as well as professional. My brother has a learning disability and autism, and I am a Trustee at Sunnybank Trust, an advocacy charity supporting people with learning disabilities in Surrey.
